Earth and Arts Festival
The Suffolk Earth and Arts Festival is returning to the heart of Suffolk on April 20, 2024, promising a day filled with creativity, culture, and community spirit. Organized by Keep Suffolk Beautiful and the Suffolk Art League, the festival will run from 10:00AM to 4:00PM. Organizers are delighted to share that this year's festivities will be hosted on Main Street in the historic downtown area.
Historic Garden Week in Virginia - Suffolk Tour
A botanical delight, Riverview is situated on a peninsula flanked by two waterways, Lake Meade and the Nansemond River. Featuring custom homes built in various architectural styles during the early to mid-1900s, this picturesque neighborhood is conveniently located close to historic downtown Suffolk. Winding brick walkways lead to charming porches and established gardens filled with blooming camellias, hydrangeas and colorful perennials. Riverview residents invite visitors to soak in the timeless charm by experiencing six well-preserved homes with manicured landscapes and well-loved gardens.

Conveniently situated at the Suffolk Visitor Center Pavilion, 524 North Main Street in Downtown Suffolk, the Suffolk Farmers' Market runs each Saturday from 9:00AM until 1:00PM, May through November. Based on the worldwide best-selling novel, Where the Crawdads Sing is a coming-of-age story about “Marsh Girl” Kya Clark, a mysterious and wild local in the 1950s Deep South who raises herself in the marshes after she is abandoned by her family. Kya becomes the prime suspect in the murder of a man with whom she was once involved.
The cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, David Strathairn, and Michael Hyatt.

Join us for 50 Fest: a celebration of the City’s 50th Anniversary and the Grand Opening of Downtown Festival Park!
Enjoy a night of nostalgia and entertainment. Event will feature food trucks and family-friendly festivities throughout the night. Local 70’s cover band “Inside Out” will set the mood. Come dressed in your best 70’s attire for a chance to win prizes in our costume contest. The celebration continues after the concert with a screening of the classic: Superman (PG, 1978) starting at 8:30 p.m., on our impressive 40 ft. movie screen.
Bring a chair or blanket for seating. Coolers are not permitted and only water may be brought on-site. Adult beverages will be available for purchase for those over the age of 21 with proper identification. Service animals are permitted, as are well-behaved, leashed dogs. Parking will be available in public lots throughout downtown.

On Friday, September 13 from 6:00–9:30pm, artists and patrons will gather at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts for the much-anticipated ‘Wet Paint Sale & Soiree’. Meet the artists, view their new artwork and purchase an incredibly special piece of Suffolk themed artwork to adorn your home or business. ‘Wet Paint Sale & Soiree’ tickets go on sale July 1, 2024 and include scrumptious food, an open bar, and live music.
On Saturday, September 14th from 12-2 PM, in conjunction with Suffolk’s annual ‘Taste of Suffolk’ Downtown Street Festival, Youth, ages 10-17, and Adults of ALL abilities are invited to paint outside, ‘en plein air’, during the “PAINT the TASTE” event. This is a chance for novice to experienced painters to try their hand at plein air painting. The QuickDraw format is extremely exciting ~ the goal is to quickly produce an original piece of artwork in only 120 minutes!

Find the best spot to watch the floats, equestrian units, marching bands, and festival vehicles as they make their way down West Washington Street, and turn up North Main Street, with the parade route ending at Finney Avenue.
